Basic Info
Name:Hirako Shinji
Bio

Follow the path of the unsafe, independent thinker.

Expose your ideas to the dangers of controversy.

Speak your mind and fear less the label of "crackpot" than the stigma of conformity.

And on issues that seem important to you, stand up and be counted at any cost.

-- Thomas J. Watson.

who am i?
Not only is he willing comedy, Hirako is always on the cutting edge
in many ways. He is at once a trendsetter and a trend-follower, preferring the Now to the
Then in most things. Cool and calculatingly intelligent, he fancies himself an amateur
psychologist. He's an idealist at heart, and he'd really actually like to change the
world for the better-- Hirako is just hindered by a spurned and independent mind that
creates the urge to come off with a superior, interfering nature. He enjoys the phrase "I know," and the word "forward."

what am i?
Hirako Shinji is not the self-appointed leader of the vaizored. The
vaizored simply assumed that Hirako would do to lead. He neither wants, nor enjoys his
position as de facto group leader. While Hirako is very fond of being the mouth and eyes
of the vaizored, the theoretical spokesperson of their kind, he takes no pleasure
in being forced to be their brain and their sword-arm.

This is not to say, however, that Hirako is not cut out for the job. He is, and when times
call for him to reach for his zanpakutou and stand in battle or in defence of the
vaizoreds, Hirako will rise to the head of the troops.

where have i been?
One of the first Vaizored to become a Vaizored, Hirako did so willingly,
without prompt, extracting the idea from his own brain. Surely it’d happened to other
shinigami before, but Hirako did it because he could. He knew he would become
stronger, if he could play both sides of the field, and he wasn’t going to let anyone
stop him from from doing what he knew, 100% certainly, was Right. Viva La Revolución!

At any rate, the shinigami disagreed strongly, because they were obviously behind the times
and bastards to boot (as evidenced by that bit with the Quincy). He hated shinigami.
Hirako packed up his bat and his ball and went home; rather, to the living world, taking
with him and teaching whichever shinigami desired the Power to Make A Stand and the
shinigami rejoiced to be rid of the thorn in their side. For the most part. They
generally lived quiet, exiled lives until Aizen Sousuke started his upstart bit and took
reactionary behavior to a level Hirako had never even imagined. Aizen created the
Arrancar, and Shinji pretty much hated them, too. He hated them because they were hollows
and he hated them because it touched too close to home.

Also, it was totally copyright infringement.

Hirako found out about Kurosaki Ichigo. Kurosaki was a jerk in vast and sundry ways, using
Hirako in ways that pissed him off quite a lot, but he was a decent ally. Then he found
out about Urahara Kisuke. That Urahara dude was exiled from Soul Society too, and he
generally viewed the Vaizored in the way Hirako viewed Kurosaki Ichigo. Shinji thought
Urahara had style. They met, they politically eloped. This brings us nearly up-to-date.

what can i do?

Being a vaizored has its' obvious advantages, as well as disadvantages; although, Shinji
would gladly omit the disadvantages if confronted about his abilities as a vaizored.

Cero are deep red, compressed orbs of energy which can be fired by stronger Hollows
(and subsequently, most higher-powered vaizored). Cero take a sufficiently lengthy period
to build up, and so are not very ideal for melee combat; however, they are extremely destructive.

Bala are created on the same principles as cero, but are much smaller and weaker,
created more easily for melee combat. A bala can move at up to twenty times the speed of
a typical cero, which can be generalized as slow-moving attacks.

Hierro, Steel Skin, is the ability to condense reiatsu to form a thin protective
'shell' around the body of an arrancar, hollow or vaizored. All shinigami have
essentially the same capability, however (except in the case of individuals such as
Zaraki Kenpachi) it is not nearly as effective in their case.

A technique somewhere between Sonido, used by arrancar and high-level hollows, and
Shunpo, used by shinigami, is used by Hirako, although it is not truly either
technique, but a mix between them. It allows him to move at great speeds for short
distances, although he is not particularly adept at the ability, and doesn't use it as
often as most.

Floating is something that shinigami are capable of under necessity, and
arrancar and hollows are capable of at choice. Shinigami do not use the technique often,
as it tends to sap a large amount of energy very quickly. Hirako is capable of floating
at will, and expends little effort to do so. Additionally, he is capable of the
individual (not shared by other shinigami or hollow/arrancar) ability of shifting
planes
. Shinji is able to consciously decide what is up and down to him, allowing the
vaizored to perform most activities with ease, even if upside-down.

who will join me?
Hirako’s zanpakutou, Akaigekisen (lit. Red Fierce War) , in it’s
sealed state is small and thin, with a monochromatic red scabbard and hilt; no fussy
business and beautiful in its simplicity. However, Hirako frequently doesn’t even wear
his zanpakutou on his person unless knowingly heading into a conflict, worn hanging from
his belt when it is. He prefers to use brute force as opposed to the sword, leaning
heavily on his hollow strength and cero blasts (after all, ceros go BOOM). In its shikai
form, the zanpakutou resembles a smallish Egyptian scimitar. The shikai behaves in much
the same was as Urahara Kisuke’s Benihime, and may possibly be of a related type, capable
of creating large-scale reddish-hued barriers (Warau!, Smile!) and small, ovoid energy constructs (Utsu!, Avenge!) which
will react in much the same way as a spiritual napalm bomb when they impact a target.
Hirako’s bankai greatly changes the shape of the zanpakutou, as it becomes Kouchaku
Akaigekisen (Stalemate Red Fierce War). The zanpakutou becomes a wrapping of reddish
threads around Hirako’s body, making his appearance like a fictional ‘mummy.’ These
thousands of red threads can be controlled (Kakikaeru!, Rewrite!) to stop opponents and their various attacks,
as well as to attack on their own to deal squeezing damage, like a snake; the perfect
counterpoint to a zanpakutou type such as Kuchiki Byakuya’s.

The Avatar of the sword, Akaigekisen himself, is a mounted samurai wearing deep red
and black o'yoroi with gold accents, ornate and clearly expensive but simplistic in form.
His face is unknown to Shinji, as it is consistently covered with a metal faceplate in
the form of an oni's visage. It might be important to note that Akaigekisen when
spiritually 'incarnate,' has no voice, nor does he carry a weapon.

The Hollow inside of Hirako, the one that he holds on a tight leash, goes by the name of
Maruiko Ijin'ishi. Hirako would rather not speak about him.
